Social Media Assistant
Hey 👋🏻 I’m Charlie, I run Comet Creative Labs and I’m looking for a freelance social media assistant/intern to help out with social media, content and copywriting for our beauty & wellness clients
Comet Creative Labs is a small creative agency that works with clients like Kosas, Hello Klean, Glisten Cosmetics and Bubble Skincare (and more) on social media content and strategies
The Role - Freelance Social Media Assistant
The foundation of the role will be admin, organisation, copywriting and social media scheduling for a range of beauty & wellness clients. However, I want to build the role around the candidate and expand the responsibilities with time depending on their particular strengths
The role is fully remote with variable and flexible hours, so is suited to a student (or anyone) looking to gain experience and learn whilst also earning some money, but that isn’t reliant on earning X amount per week. The hours will be around 5 hours a week but could be more or less depending on demand and your availability, and would start with a one month trial
Responsibilities
Copywriting captions for social media posts
Scheduling social media content
Community management
Brand research & cataloguing
Brainstorming content ideas, trend spotting
Content creation
Must have:
An interest in beauty & wellness
A love of social media (ideally an unhealthy amount of screentime on TikTok)
Top tier organisational skills
A genuine desire to pursue social media, marketing, content creation, or similar as a career
Copywriting skills
A good sense of humour
Reliable
Nice to have*
Content creation skills (e.g photography, videography, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, InShot)
Professional social media experience
Graphic design skills
Ability and willingness to ‘self-shoot’ content (e.g TikToks, IGTVs, UGC style content)
A relevant degree (in progress)
Timezone similar to GMT, availability between 9-5 (GMT) to work the majority of the hours
Experience using organisational programs like Notion, Airtable, or Trello
*Did you know women are likely to only apply for a job if they meet 100% of the requirements, vs men who apply if they only meet 60% of the requirements? If you don’t check every box - please still apply!
What’s great about the role
£10 an hour, roughly 5 hours per week (as needed)
Fully remote, freelance position
Flexible hours - perfect for a university student
Gain experience working for brands
1 month trial period to make sure we’re a great fit
Mentorship - I’m really keen to help you learn the industry and the role, and help you in your career even after we work together if desired
Potential for free products along the line
A nice, informal, female manager
What’s shit about the role
I have the world's worst memory so will forget things and ask you questions repeatedly, repeat things etc
Inconsistent hours - some weeks I might need you for 6 hours, some for 0. On the plus side, I’m happy for this to go both ways - if you have a deadline week and can’t work, that’s totally fine
I have a terrible memory
Admin can be super boring (but I’ll try to give you creative tasks once you’re up to speed!)
My memory isn’t great
How to apply
Send your CV to charlie@cometcreative.co.uk along with a 30-60 second vertical video introducing yourself and telling me what your favourite beauty/wellness brand is and why. Super informal, can be shot on your phone, think TikTok style. No need for a cover letter. No need for a portfolio but if you have one please do send.
